Shirley Pittz

Board Member

Board service 1999 - present

Shirley has over 40 years of work experience focused on young children and their families. Most recently, she has provided private consulting services to a variety of organizations in Alaska. With extensive experience in managing and directing social service programs focused on families with children, her administrative experience provides insight about the challenges organizations and communities have in funding programs and achieving outcomes and goals. Shirley’s experience managing statewide programs has also helped her understand the unique circumstances of operating programs outside of Alaska's urban hubs.

Shirley serves because she has seen numerous times the significant difference even small efforts and programs can make for a community or for a family or child. The funding provided by the foundation makes possible activities and events that are locally driven and enhance life, support culture and strengthen communities.
